White bass,blue gill and trout
My first time back on the water since early February, and the first thing I noticed was that the water was very warm, even warmer than it gets in the summer time. And what that did was brought in the yellow bass and bluegill, I probably caught close to 20 yellow bass and two of the fattest bluegill I have ever caught. The sky was overcast most of the time and the temperature was in the 70s. I met the Harstons Bros.at the dam at seven and we probably got into the water down by the steps close to 730. There was plenty of trout in the water also, all told we probably caught 60 trout between us with the each one of us probably getting our 20. Most were rainbows 10-16" and fat, so it looks like the fishing for this year will be as good as it has been for the last two years as long as the water doesn't stay warm. Hopefully, it won't be three months before I get back onto the water, until next time, Pappy.
