River Update

 This is not a fishing update but a river flow update.  The river has been flowing with 2 generators for the last week and probably another two weeks. 

Still slow

 This is for Tuesday Nov. 19, below steps for 1 1/2 hours in the morning.  Tried zebra midge, other nymps and colors , only had two hits. The others around me didn't do much either.  Today is Thursday and it is very windy and 40's, fall is finally here.  Until next time, Pappy. 

 I just got back from Cameron MT Saturday morning November 1st.  The fishing was very slow due to the warm weather, lack of rain and overall bad weather for trout fishing.  As soon as I headed home, the cold weather and snow set in so I was a couple of weeks early for better fishing weather.  Overall, the trip was great staying at Kelly's Gallup Inn.  Jake and Matt and John the general manager were extremely helpful and Kelly was great,I told him if he needed a handyman to give me a call. I am now wanting to get back on the Caney.  Until next time, Pappy.

 I went to the Caney this morning for a couple of hours, started below the dam at 8;00 till about 10.  I caught two yellow bass quick and a couple of small rainbows later.  The water was stained maybe from the sluice?  Not many fishing. I have been a couple of other times this summer with no luck at all.  I got my River Hawke set up with two depth finders and trolling motor and the 20 hp Mercury is running good so I am hoping to get it out this week.  I went to the Caney for a couple of hours on Friday, Nov. 3,2023. First time since February, I only saw three rising and missed one. A small hatch about 3:30. Not much else to say.  Until next time, Pappy

 I went to the Caney yesterday afternoon, a beautiful day.  Temperature in the 50's.  I only had one bite and missed it. I didn't realize it at the time, but i got broke off.  I did meet a man from Robertson County, Robert Todd.  That's all for now, until next time, Pappy.

 I went yesterday, Thursday, afternoon for about an hour at happy Hollow while the water was going down. Did not catch anything but a driver from the canoe place said that TWRA was still stocking, I was there on that Thursday but did not see any evidence as of this. Until next time
